When registering for Kin, a mobile phone number is required. It would be great if we could also register with our Google account (optionally, of course) and have the conversation backed up and saved encrypted in the cloud.
What happens if a smartphone suddenly breaks or the user gets a new number and hasn't made a backup beforehand? They buy a new smartphone and install the Kin app, but the conversations and data are gone.
If registering with a Google account becomes possible, it should also be possible to link the Google account to an existing account that was first created with a mobile phone number.
