It's an interesting concept, but I'm struggling to think of the use case in which Kin is preferable. There are many limitations (no URL access, no doc sharing, no media generation, etc.) and we've already reached the point where we can run models like phi-3.5 mini on mobile devices, and this allows not only local data storage but everything local and even offline if desired.
But worst of all, I simply was not floored by the quality of Kin's discussions. When attempting to debate any issue, there is a strong tendency for the platform to repeat statements, nearly verbatim, despite the fact that they have been addressed in full previously. Having the same statement said to me repeatedly as if being uttered for the first time feels more like talking to a mental patient than a mental therapist.
